The last days of my stay in Australia, we spent near Cairns in a holiday park called Cairns Crystal Cascades Holiday Park. There are various types of cabins from simple to very luxuriously equipped villas with a bath. All of them are self contained. We saw also grass campsites for those who love camping, like we did when we were young.
There is a pool for the swimmers and we did some bushwalking in the late afternoon. It's a beautiful park and it offers a lot of possibilities to do birdwatching, bicycle riding, horse riding, a game of golf a snorkelling or diving expedition with one of the local tour operators.

The park was very peaceful and quiet when we were there.
Some bushes still had beautiful flowers.

Beautiful post Wil. At the last Squadron reunion my husband and I attended in the UK we met a lovely Aussie there from Cairns. Being the only Aussie in attendance he attached himself to Charles' crew and was a most welcome addition on our travels and had many good tales about Cairns.
It looks like a great place for a family holiday. Glad you had the chance to have some family time in such lush surroundings.
