Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht Hill Ridge) is a municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht, the capital of which is Utrecht. It was formed on 1 January 2006 by combining the former municipalities of Amerongen, Doorn, Driebergen-Rijsenburg, Leersum, and Maarn.
We walked through the Kaapse Bossen( wood) to Chalet Helenaheuvel. In this teapot shaped house we had a nice cup of coffee, which was very welcome as it had been very cold on our walk.
In 1932 the owner of the Kaapse Bossen had a tearoom built and named it after the daughter of mr. Swellengrebel, the man who regained possession of this area in 1750 and who had a wood laid out here.

Utrecht is also a big art supply company here in the U.S.! I guess that explains where they got their name!
Teapot building was my favorite too! Cheers :)
Tea room in the shape of a tea pot - that is one place I'm going to fall in love with in a heart beat.
Love the teapot-shaped house -- but how could you drink coffee there!!
The teapot house is very unique Wil!

A tearoom is always the perfect end to a walk. How nice this one is in a wood.

J’aime beaucoup cette petite maison genre théière – c’est adorable. Moi aussi je suis une anglophile depuis que j’y suis allée, toute seule, quand j’avais 13 ans. I enjoyed your post about your mum – she was quite a lady. It was so nice that she could meet her great grand-child. I don’t think I will be able to see mine since my oldest grandson just turned 6 years old.
Hi Miranda Stahl! Thank you for your visit and comment.
Of all the photos (hard to pick one favorite), I'd have to say the teapot house. What a charming idea! And thank you for the trip around the province. You are blessed to live in the Netherlands, I believe. Keep it up, Wil! Peace, Amy
