Weekend Reflections, The Netherlands, Rotterdam
Please click to see more details!
Rotterdam was not so long ago one of the most important harbours in the world. These photos were, however, not taken in the harbours, but in the city centre. There are always many inland vessels and rivercraft.

Strange, the second photo looks like Singapore, and I think I mentioned this before. It is those bum boats.
Beautiful pictures! Visual echoes...
C'est très beau!
Ces images paisibles contrastent avec celle d'hier.
j'espère visiter un jour votre pays!
In 1980 I arrived in Rotterdam by train as I recall and we my then young husband and I had nowhere to stay, so we were forced to accept lodging at an expensive hotel nearby. I still remember that night, the best sleep I had experienced in a long time during our travels but I saw little of Rotterdam. The next day we set off at daylight for Haarlem. These photos are wonderful. Thanks.
Amazing contrast of old world vs modern. Wonderful photos.
These are beautiful reflections. The first picture is especially impressive.
I can feel the atmosphere of an old harbour. There is something special about the old ports, and Rotterdam is certainly one of the best known.
Terrific reflections, Wil! You can indeed feel the atmosphere of an old harbor. What a wonderful and interesting city is Rotterdam! Have a great weekend!

Quel plaisir et quel honneur ce serait, chère Reader Will!
Rotterdam looks like a great place. I like your photos a lot including your header. I wish I had the time to see Rotterdam for myself on my vaction this fall but Antwerp will be as close as I'll get.
Lovely, Wil. Especially like the top one with the contrast between the old (the boats) and the new (the buildings).
These are SO awesome when enlarged to full screen! There is fabulous color in those reflections!
Wonderful reflections, lots of interesting things to see.

I've been there years ago.. You're bringing back sweet memories!
I love the colors reflected in the water. These are wonderful pictures. Should be framed.
I love the photos. The contrasts make for a lot of interest. Buildings and water. Modern and old. Color and monochrome. Well done.
Such a great place and awesome reflections!

Lovely pics, Wil! It never ceases to amaze me how creative some of the modern architects are in designing their buildings -I love the one in the middle of your first pic.
Also, the boats are a familiar and reassuring sight!
A gorgeous collection of reflections! Love the strong reflection colours in the first photo!
Golly the red fairly pops straight out of your first photo, Wil. I always hunt for scarlet but she is a hard master. You have a wonderful treatment here.
Lovely refections, I especially like the first one.
Great photos and beautiful reflections. Would love to see this city...
Beautiful shots, I love the harbor scene.
Beautiful shots with reflections.
I am so glad to see this historical cityas well as the heart of Dresden rebuilt.
Your first shot is stunning!
Hope you are having a wonderful summer.
All of those photos are magnificent. The scenes look lovely.
What a beautiful place--those reflections are just lovely.
That is one gorgeous city, my friend. I love the play of light on the various shapes of the buildings and vessels. Your timing was superb.
Je pars en vacances, mais une programmation automatique de mes photos est prévue tous les deux jours.
Bonne continuation, et à bientôt.
Excellent series, especially the first.
Excellent photos Wil...there's something about water and reflections that is soothing to the soul.

Lovely photos, Wil. Especially of the older buildings.
I have visited Amsterdam - and loved it - but have not been to Rotterdam. What wonderful reflections and light quality! I found you via Weaver.
Vicki's 'visual echoes' is spot on!
