Before I read you text, I wanted to say, Help Rotterdam is burning.
Such an intense photo of the red and orangy sky. The dark building makes it a dramatic photo.
In New Zealand, the people are reminded of the fires of London, that is why they build the houses here a quarter acre.
I really like that tinge of red just underneath the overhanging dark cloud. Very nicely captured, Wil.

What a lovely sky. I think that when one has lived through a bombardment during war, one never forgets. Just a couple of days ago there was thunder rumbling near our home. I was not paying attention too much as I was writing a post and just thought, well it must be some canon. Then suddenly I realized – how come I was thinking this, after so many years? Strange how some things stay in your psyche. But I would have loved to be in Rotterdam on 3rd July when Le Tour de France started.
It is terrible how man would do in the time of war. I think human is one of the only few species in the biological world that kill each own kind in this mass way!! Do we ever learn!!

Not sure if you wanted me to explain.
Before the burning of London, the houses were joined together. When London burn, all the houses were burn one sfter another.
When they came to New Zealand, they didn't want the disaster of the London fire. They allocated 1/4 acre per house. No way would houses be burn together as they are so far away.
Recently the younger people went for Terrace houses, the old people said," You forgot the very reason why we have 1/4 acre house. Young people forget about the London fire."
