ABC Wednesday Q for Qantas
The first time we went to Australia was in June 1996 for the wedding of my second daughter. We flew with Qantas from London Heathrow to Singapore and after a stopover we continued the trip to Cairns, where my daughter met us at the airport. From Cairns we flew in a small aircraft to Cooktown.
Wikipedia says:"Qantas Airways Limited is the national airline of Australia. The name was originally "QANTAS", an acronym/initialism for "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services". Nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo", the airline is based in Sydney. It is Australia's largest airline and is the world's second oldest airline. Qantas is headquartered in the Qantas Centre in the Mascot suburb of the City of Botany Bay, Sydney, New South Wales.
In 2009, Qantas was voted the sixth best airline in the world by research consultancy firm Skytrax, a drop from 2008 (third), 2007 (fifth), 2006 (second), and 2005 (second).

Wil, have a great time on home turf with the family!!
Yes, God bless Quantas for ferrying you and me and our daughters and grandkids back and forth.

Of course! Australia, with its scattered population practically NEEDED air travel.

I had no idea that Quantas was an acronym.
I'm so happy that you got some great family time together and thanks for sharing the video.
A country that definitely needs air travel.
Little tiny planes scare me to no end!
Great post Wil, - the video gives me itchy feet and the music makes me want to fly.
I only travel once by Qantas, it was a domestic flight from Brisbane to Sydney.
Lucky Australia :)

Wel spijtig dat de zon ook niet van de partij is nu je bezoek hebt, maar leuk zal het daar bij jullie toch wel zijn.
I have flown qantas many times, and it is a good airline.
When will you go to Oz again?
Quantas is a great airline..
Mine is here
Happy Sensational Wednesday!

I would love to fly Quantas to visit Australia!!
Q is for quince
Aha! Well, this solves a mystery! Thank you! I've often idly wondered 'why Qantas'?
I did hear that Qantas had a pretty good reputation, too!
Love your header.
Admire your ability to get on any plane and fly. I have a real fear.
Have a wonderful visit.
I know someone who worked for Quantas long enough to retire from it! Remember the movie, "Rainman"? He talked about Quantas being the only airline that didn't have a crash. I wonder if that is still true...
Quantas has such a beautiful sound to me - it brings forth wonderful thoughts. I have no idea why.
Great post.
Learned something new today.
Best wishes,
Anna

Good choice for Q.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
I took Quantas when I visited Australia, many years ago. I remember exactly when, because I was at LA airport watching the American launching the fist air strike to Iraq in the first Gulf war. Never know what Quanta stands for and it is the second oldest airlines in the world. Have a good weekend.
I flew a couple of times with qantas Good airline
