that's My World, Winter Wonderland
To enlarge slide click first on "View all Images"then click on "Original View"
The second photo from the top is the ice rink, it's an inundated field, which will be frozen over in case of frost. In summer it's dry and used for games and sports.
In all these photos you can see canals frozen over. We have a lot of water you see. Next to the canal is either a motorway or a cycle path.I have photos of the same canals in spring and then they look quite different, I can assure you that. I took the photos at noen, so there were no skaters yet, but when school is over the children will be on the ice for it's strong enough.

Oh Wil.......Your photos are the best!! It so reminds me of the Christmas song "Walking in a Winter Wonderland". I envy you the blessing of being able to walk through it for real!
The photos are beautiful We woke up Sat. morning to ice covered objects outside. When the sun poked out for just a few seconds, everything looked so pretty, the sun shining on the ice. Abe tried to get a photo, but the sun didn't stay out very long.
fantastic shots! R-Wil,
This could be in front of my/our door(Holland too), I like each photo, and yep! I posted about the same theme : "ICE and Skating" watch mine here:

Beautiful wonderland and snowy trees.
Beautiful shots of your winter wonderland. The canals look like a great place to skate!
Gorgeous photos! Even though I'm getting tired of winter and GRAY, I loved the visit to your world. Thank you so much for sharing and have a great week!
BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS AND PLACE!! :)
Wil: Thanks for the look into your cold world.
Everything looks like exquisite, intricate blown glass! I can only imagine how cold it must be! I love weeping willows. I grew up in New England and they were always there. Now I seldom see one since I now live in the Deep South.
This really is a winter wonderland of Narnia proportions. Still no snow here. I sse linky is down again as we all post My world's.
Thanks for showing us your beautiful world in all its winter splendor. I enjoyed your photos.
I love your header photo and all of your pictures! In a hurry right now, but I will come back later and look some more.
All your photos are awesome. It seems like you took them from a fairytale. The nature in ice but so warm in the heart.
Brings to mind memories of the story of Hans Brinker.
Thanks for sharing!
They are so beautiful... It's as if someone sprinkled powdered sugar all over the place... it's so pretty!
What wonderful photos!
Wil, I can feel you going about with your camera and shooting away at all this beauty. It is like the Snow Queen's domain with trees blossoming with frost creating a beauty more wonderful than blossoms in spring! Superb post.
Thank you for your very kind comment on mine.
That sounds fun to skate on the canals. We have many canals down here in Florida, but they've never been skatable!
So much snow!
I have never seen something like this before, must be fun to skate across.
I wish I have seen that part of Holland... maybe someday. Those are beautiful scapes. It makes me miss it. Groetjes!
Your photos of your Winter Wonderland are just lovely.
What wonderful winter photos! I especially liked the third and fourth photos from the top!
Thank you reader wil for giving me a glimpse of what your frozen canals look like - would love to see a photograph of them with skaters on.
Those are beautiful shots. I bet the children have such fun skating there.
Those are such beautiful frosty scenes of a winter wonderland. Hope the kids are having fun with their skating.
The iced trees have a real beauty, the canals all frozen would turn into play ground for the children.
A bit too cold for me, but still nice to look at.
nice photos.
Some gorgeous photos there. You can always tell when it is super cold when the trees are all glistening. Love them all
What lovely photos of your beautiful surroundings ... so different from my own.
Hugs and blessings,
Lovely photos. I like the way you combined them into a slide show.

Everything looks frozen in your world. I love cold weather and we're about to get some really really cold stuff tonight.
I can't wait!
Beautiful photos and I love your site.
Beautiful photos, it looks like an enchanted forest, especially the snow-covered willow trees. Lovely.
How beautiful it looks, however I am not a lover of the cold so its nice to see your pictures.
Winter is captured perfectly in your great images. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
I think I'd rather be in your world (at least for just a little while) I hate summer! Pt Neill is in Sth Australia on the east coast of Eyre Peninsula - the triangle bit in the centre of the south coast of Australia. Our climate is very mediterranean.
BTW you are the honour of being the 500th comment on my blog! Sorry I don't have an award for you...:( but I thought you'd like to know

Nicely shot photos. In India, we can see such scenes only in Kashmir and some northern parts.
