ABC Wednesday, U for Undredal in Norway

Undredal

"The charming village of Undredal, which has a population of 80 people and 300 goats, is situated by the Aurlandsfjord.  In the heart of the village is Scandinavia’s smallest stave church, built in 1147."

Undredal is well-known for its cheese production, especially for its white and brown goat cheese.  www.visitundredal.no.

While we were sailing in the Aurlandsfjord we saw this village from a distance and I took some photos to remember this delightful place in its peaceful surroundings.

With thanks to Denise Nesbitt,  who created ABC, and Roger, who took over from her. For more interesting ABC posts click on the logo in the sidebar. This week we are looking for words beginning with U.

wow what a pittoresk village Great photos. Would love to visit there. I do like goats as well, although 300 is quite a lot. We used to have 2 white ones. They were cute when they were small but became escapists when they were big

Always looks both cold and peaceful. I follow a lot of Norwegian bloggers, and the sunsets can be quite stunning with the unusual light. Another new word today, Undredal.

80 people and 300 goats! That is a good ratio! A new place for me. Lovely pics.

Whenever I read anything about Norway I always think of my favourite childhood book called Heidi written by Johanna Spyri.
The pictures of the village are lovely, I bet you had a wonderful holiday there Wil.
We should really take a holiday there but I believe it's terribly expensive which is off putting.
Thank you for such a lovely read again !

Best wishes,
Di.xx

Lovely - such a typically Norwegian village (ast least as one imagines it to be from reading, etc.) Beautiful countryside too...

A delightful village indeed in that most scenic of settings. Sailing around the fjords must have been an exciting adventure.
Wishing you the happiest of Birthdays and many more to come. I hope this new year brings you nothing but joy and contentment. ❤

Thank you for being a tour guide to a place I will most likely never see "in person." :-) Beautiful photos of a very charming place.

I like the colour of the leaves on your cover photo.

Did anyone tell you that Your part of the world looks like New Zealand?
