ABC Wednesday X for Xavier Rudd

Wikipedia says:"Xavier Rudd is an Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He was born in 1978 and grew up in Torquay, Victoria. He attended St. Joseph's College, Geelong.

He has developed a strong reputation for playing live performances at musical festivals and concerts in Australia and in North America. His following is particularly strong in Australia and in Canada, where he has recorded several albums.

Many of Rudd's songs incorporate socially conscious themes, such as environmentalism and the rights of Aboriginal peoples. In addition to playing the didgeridoo in many of his songs, he has also included both Australian and Canadian Aboriginal vocals in some of his songs".BTW I had first a ballad sung by Xavier Rudd, but somehow it disappeared. So this was the only video of him.It might not be your cup of tea, but it's interesting, isn't it?

With thanks to Denise Nesbitt, who created ABC.For more interesting ABC posts click on the logo in the sidebar or Here. This week we are looking for words beginning with X.

This is why I love to vist here. That music was not exactly my cup of tea but where else can a person go and add "didgeridoo" to their vocabulary.
Thanks Wil for always opening the "learning" doors.

I find the didgeridoo strangely compelling. Thanks, Wil!

I think the sound of the digeridoo is so primaeval Wil - amazing stuff.

So fascinating and primitive. A perfect choice for the letter X.

A great subject. We know the didgeridoo here in the UK because of Australian Rolf Harris who's been an entertainer here for decades.

I only know the instrument from the TV show Survivor. I rather like it, actually.

It was an interesting post and the didgeridoo is a very special instrument - once heard, never forgotten. The combination with environmentalism is a nice one.

This musical instrument as well as the musician are completely new to me. I learned something! Very good choice for this rather difficult letter - X!!
Strange music, but fascinating.
Best wishes,
Anna

I'm not so sure how I feel about the didgeridoo. I guess I fall into the category of not my cup of tea. I did love to learn about this musician. He does sound like my kind of soul.

How nice if it is possible for one to follow ones heart and become such an artist.

How interesting. Not sure I'd like to listen to hours of it, but really enjoyed the video and the rhythm! It has an 'ancient and earthy' sound. Thank you!

The digeridoo has a very mystical sound - an unknown quantity about it - perfect for the letter X.

I liked the sound a lot! National Geographic's site always has unusual world artists with different sounds. I looked up Xavier Rudd's music on Amazon and listened to his vocals. Was suprised how different the sound was from this video. Thanks for bringing him to our attention.

heheheh, is he the cousin of Kevin Rudd? Is Rudd a common name?

Did you buy a didgeridoo. I almost did, except it cost too much and I have to pay money to sterile it in NZ. Beside, I can't make a nice sound.

I don't know him but it's good that his first name starts with an X, lol !

Amazing sounds, thanks to introduce him to us.

Now this was very interesting music, I must say. I love those header photos! They're stunning, Wil.

Not at all my type of thing, I'm afraid. I like my music to have some kind of form ... but yes, it is interesting, nontheless, and an Xllent X!

That man has more enthusiasm and energy than Dolly Parton looking for a safety pin when her bra strap broke.
