This is my new thing to learn today Wil!!! I have never heard of green ants..and I love the pictures and information. Thank you for sharing. Blogging is the most wonderful way to expand my knowledge (so beautifully and so painlessly!)...If I had read this information in a book, I'd probably not have remembered it for long, but reading it here --- with your family connection and pictures -- I am sure I'll retain the information.

That is just so interesting! I've never seen green ants before. We have red and black and that's good enough, please.

Well, isn't that something? Never seen a green ant before. They almost look like they are almost transparent are glowing like. What a wonderful insect that they offer a medicinal purpose as well. How interesting. Great post! =)

Ants are very interesting creatures and these really know how to build a neat house. Think I would have to be really sick though to drink their belly juice.
Very interesting post.

My goodness, I never heard of Green Ants before.
They certainly are industrious and can build amazing structures.
I just saw Cloudia comment and laughed...walking grapes...too funny.

That is very interesting, Wil. I don't imagine a farmer would welcome an infestation of green ants, but they are fascinating to see.

Ants are not on my 'favourites' list but they are fascinating creatures, the last photo of them is amazing. Australia must be an entomologist's dream.

Clever little bugs! I've never seen or even heard green ants. All our ants are either black or red and build their nests in the ground. . Interesting!
