Sunday Bridges, Great Britain, Oxford
Bridge of Sighs in Oxford. The main buildings at Hertford College are linked together by a corridor called the "Bridge of Sighs," built in 1913-14 and named after the Ponte dei Sospiri(= Italian for Bridge of Sighs) in Venice.
A common myth states that it was the students who named this bridge "bridge of sighs," as the context of its existing within the college grounds means that the "sighs" are those of pre-exam students.

Beautiful with all these windows on the bridge, Wil! Have a great Sunday!
What an amazing bridge. I would love to stroll across that one or maybe just stand at a window with a birds eye view of the street.
wow, that is gorgeous! such detail and love all the windows!
Oooh, very nice. At first I did think it was in Venice. This bridge between two buildings must be nice to have when it rains... which of course it does often in Oxford.
That bridge is gorgeous! So many lovely details. Wonderful photo for Sunday Bridges!
At first glance I thought it was THE Bridge of Sighs. Very nice.
Boy, does this shot make me wish for those summers when I took my student to England and to Oxford. It was a wonderful experience each year. I do have the memories, and shots like this one bring them to the front of my brain. Thanks for a lovely walk down memory lane.
That is a beautiful bridge, but I wonder why it was called that.
it's a lovely bridge, I really should visit Oxford again!
Fascinating!
