To all American bloggers: Happy Thanksgiving! I understand that our Canadian blogging friends celebrate Thanksgiving on another day!

I saw a docudrama on the Pilgrams yesterday and was not aware that they had spent 12 years in the Netherlands seeking sanctuary before sailing to America.
The Dutch made the preparations for the trip possible. We need to thank the Dutch in our freedom today. Thank you, a bit late.

It's a shame we dont celebrate it in the UK.
Another paid day off would do quite nicely. lol

Arkansas Patti makes a good point! The dutch have often been more tolerant than the rest of the world. And probably still are.

Thank you for this post. Thanksgiving is our one beautiful, real moment. It's the holiday that isn't about stuff or grandstanding or politics. Thank you for being a part of that magic.

Thank you, Wil. We did have a very nice Thanksgiving. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful fall. I hope it's not too cold.

Yes, I do remember learning that the Pilgrims spent some time in the Netherlands. How wonderful that the Dutch were so kind to the people running from persecution.
