CC Three Australian birds.

This time no Dutch critters! I don't know the name of the first bird, which we saw near a waterfall. The two others were confused and flew into my daughter's house in Australia.. One is a yellow-bellied sunbird, and the blue one is a Forest Kingfisher. The photos were taken by my Dutch daughter

Camera Critters is hosted by Misty Dawn. Thank you so much Misty Dawn.We all enjoy seeing and talking about animals. All creatures great and small give us much pleasure. If you want to see more Camera Critters click on the logo in the side bar

The bills on the second two birds look so different from any I've ever seen except maybe at a zoo. I think it's interesting that Mother Nature is so creative n making so many varied creatures.

They seem so comfortable perched on your daughter's hand. The Kingfisher looks majestic.

Such beautiful and unusual looking birds. Amazing to see them so calm after the home invasion.

It's always a treat to see the flora and fauna of far off places. Thank you, Reader Wil!

The last two look so exotic, like they belong in the jungle somewhere! I'm impressed that they weren't too afraid to sit on your daughter's hand. (Is that whose hand it is? :) )

Look at the glorious colours on the Forest Kingfisher !!

That first photo looks like it might be from the Reed Warbler family ... maybe a Clamorous Reed Warbler. Not sure, especially with the grey on it's head..

I cannot get over the perched Forest Kingfisher. That is an amazing image of such an elusive bird. I thought at first the first bird might be a wheatear of some kind but the colouing is not quite right. Interesting to find out what this cutie is.

The Kingfisher is a headturner! When we were kids I love spying on those! They became rare as I grew older :(

Ces deux oiseaux ne sont pas farouches !Cela donne une photo charmante!
Le bec crochu du deuxième oiseau est très curieux ...

Amazing how the birds would let someone handle them!
Lovely shots.

Gee, that amazing that a Forest Kingfisher could actually sit on the hand such as that! What a treat that must've been. Those colors are quite striking.

Beautiful birds, I can't imagine having some so pretty as the two that flew into her house.

Hope you're having a great week-end. Today the weather was just perfect here in Ohio. Sun shining, temp about 70, dry, slight breeze, really, really nice.

These birds are just so beautiful. It is rare to see a kingfisher up close and not just as a flash of blue. A pity when they fly into windows and stun themselves though.

These birds are lovely! It's fun to view unfamiliar species.

I'm loving the new header photo, too. Did you get a new puppy?

love these beautiful blue kingfishers. have seen quite a few from Gold Coast driving up to the Sunshine coast to see Steve Erwin's Zoo. That was the summer before he died.

The first bird is a Grey-headed Robin. Does your daughter live near Cairns? This bird has a rather limited range. Thanks for sharing these!
