that's My World, A Spring Walk in a Dutch polder.
To enlarge click first on "View All Images" then on " Original View".
Saturday, 21st March, the first day of spring, we made this walk and I'd like to share it with you! It's again in the polder, so typical of the low country. A polder is a piece of reclaimed land surrounded by dykes and the canals between the fields are there to collect the water, which then will be pumped into the river by either windmills or an electric mill.

Cette jolie promenade a dû vous reposer, après votre grand nettoyage de printemps !
Merci de nous en faire profiter...Et si vous passez d'autres vacances en France, visitez la Venise verte !
Walking through your polder seems like the thing to do if it is a little bit warm. It is a little bit warm here and Patty got our lawnmower started and has cut the grass in front and back. I don't know what I would do without her. I am not hardly able to walk outside.
A country walk.
Just what I need on a windy city afternoon.
Thank you.
What a great stroll through your polder! Beautiful photos, as always! Thanks for sharing a part of "your world"!
Is polder a canal? You have plenty of those and they are worth sharing with outsiders like me.
I love your header btw.
Another lovely header Wil. And how I wish I could have some walk by the polder again, they are just calming isn't it? Groetjes!
What a beautiful day and great place for a walk. You have lots of green grass already. We're getting our first blades now.
So nice to be able to go for a stroll with you today. Loved the photo with the red roof reflection.

To wander virtually someone else's virtual walk is a nice little respite. A Dutch polder is a wondeful diversion.
The country site in its early spring suit looks charming with the coots enjoying the ponds. Lots of water and pollarded trees make this country site very distinctive. The stroll was lovely.
mine is on thisandthat)
The stroll was lovely Wil....
I did have a wonderful time and I too look forward to alot more reading, I miss not getting to read and write as much.I am off to

Such a lovely slide show and all with beautiful captions too. Thanks for this walk, I needed it very much, very soothing.
Lovely countryside for you to walk through with so much water and great reflections, footbridges and nice paths as well as Basket Willows and Birches and scenic buildings. Thanks for taking us along.
That was a lovely spring walk with you in your little corner of the world.
What's a polder? And coots? I wonder if that is where the phrase, "old coot" comes from. Now I have to google to get more info.
I really wish I could take photographs as well as you do. You have quite a gift.
Lovely stroll on a lovely day in a lovely Ducth polder. Thanks for tagging us along. :-)
Very beautiful slides. Love the scenery. I would love to take a stroll and just relax there. :)
Een wandeling in de polder, prachtig is dat en zo rustgevend.
Groetjes
It is so beautiful place...
so beautiful and am sure, it's been an interesting walk for you:)
I like the pics where the tree trunks are in the water (I think you titled it "left to rot") - would be great to paint it:)
That polder is not close to where you live, right?
groetjes!
Amazing photos, Wil. A walk in nature is always relaxing.
Hi, I answered your query as an 'update' to my post. I usually reply by mail. Can I have your mail id? :)
Hello, Reader Wil,
More beautiful pictures -- the still water is so peaceful.
Over at my blog I've just given you an award --the Premio Dardos. You are welcome to visit and copy it to your own and pass it on to five others -- or not. I know that this becomes time consuming!

Cheers!

Thanks for taking me on a walk thru your springtime. I could almost smell the fresh air and hear birds singing. And thanks also for the lesson on what a polder is.
Wil, I enjoy these photo virtual tours of the Netherlands, and never tire of the canals and beautiful landscapes.
Love the pictures, you are ahead of us without doubt.
beautiful post and wish i could take a walk through the polder with you today :)
spent last evening trimming some in my yard and starting to get things in order for Spring at last.
have a wonderful evening.
Thank you for a great walk! So many pretty places to visit, with lovely ponds. We have those sweet coots too, in the lake I posted on my Watery Wednesday! They are mascots of the lake. ( the lake is protected, not allowed to fish, pick flowers ore having a bath there).
Wish you a great week!
What a beautiful walk...love these tours you give us of your beautiful country.
