If you enlarge the first photo you can see two polar bears in a very difficult situation. These photos were not taken by me of course.

I believe that shot is taken by a Norwegian photographer! He took a serie of the bears, and if I don't remember wrong he one a price for one of the shots!
The one you show here, is quite interesting; watch the ice to the wright on the picture; it looks like a polar bear shouting/crying!

It breaks my heart to see these Polar Bears in these kinds of situations. What a waste of life. We have made life impossible for so many things and now the great Polar Bears is going to drown in the rising waters.

I like to turn off the lights for longer than that. I did this last year and just left them off. I am a bit cynical about these kinds of token events however.

Global warming is tragic for a number of species, and yet it is part of the way our climate works. In the middle ages there were mines in the Alps the adits of which can now again be seen. We have always gone from Ice Ages to Global Warming. There just has not been the global communication system to show it to the rest of the world.
Hi Arija!You 're right about the climate, but it doesn't harm us if we save electricity, gas, water and food. It's not such a bad idea to look after the earth and handle her with kindness and care. The ozon layer is getting thinner. It is said that we are to blame for it. In the middle ages they had not many means to communicate, but we had no cars, no waste of plastic and other modern materials. There were no power-stations. Nature could restore itself faster than at this moment.

I read recently that the polar bears near Churchill, Manitoba have taken to cannabalism due to their shrinking arctic ice.
