Sky Watch Friday, Sunrise in Queensland, Australia

Out of the dark we came
out of the sea,
For the long wave broke on the shore.

As the day broke and the night rolled back,
There we stood on the land we would call home.

Out of the dark became
out of the night,
The first of many mornings in this new place.

When the sun rolled back the mist,
We rose like a strong wave on the land.

That is the most beautiful poem reader wil - I am assuming it is written from the point of view of a new settler in a new land. Lovey sunrise too.

These photos are so lovely! The sky at sunrise and the reflections in the water. And, yes, I did enjoy the poem as well.

2 very lovely photos of a sunrise. So glad the fires in Australia seem to be quieting down. That was horrible and all the lives that were lost.

A nice idea to show the same subject in both landscape and portrait formats. Personally I vote for the landscape one due to the horizontal lines in the composition, the puddles in the front and what I felt was too much emptiness on top of the one in portrait format.

I also felt that it was more complete and fitted the words better.

PS Thank you for the comment - it is going better now.

These are incredibly beautiful images!

Is this a poem you have written?
I love it! It reminds me of an Italian poem I once read, about the Phoenician. Unfortunately I lost it, I shall keep yours, if you allow me.

Hi Reader Wil ,
Bedankt vopor je antwoord mbt (how delete..)

Lovely poem. I too beleive it must be from a new settler.
The photos are grand. Really excellent. The three little puddles in the front reflecting the sky make them just perfect and the clouds are impressive.
