Sky Watch Friday, Sunrise in Queensland, Australia
Click on photos to enlarge them.
Out of the dark we came
out of the sea,
For the long wave broke on the shore.
As the day broke and the night rolled back,
There we stood on the land we would call home.
Out of the dark became
out of the night,
The first of many mornings in this new place.
When the sun rolled back the mist,
We rose like a strong wave on the land.

Awesome photos and beautiful words.
Your daughter took the gene from you about excellent photography.
That is the most beautiful poem reader wil - I am assuming it is written from the point of view of a new settler in a new land. Lovey sunrise too.
Wonderful sky shots and wonderful words to go with them. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Glorious tropical sunrise to wake up to.
Thank you for your kind concern Wil. I'm not out of the woods yet.
Beautiful, indeed, Wil! What a lovely place.
These photos are so lovely! The sky at sunrise and the reflections in the water. And, yes, I did enjoy the poem as well.
Those are fantastic shots of the beautiful sunrise.
Both are stunning shots, I love em.

Lovely pictures and enjoyed the poem. Who is the author?
Hope you are safe from the dreadful fires.
Beautiful and relaxing. I like the reflection and the great poem. Have a nice weekend :-)
So beutiful- photos and post!
So beutiful- photos and post!
What an incredible sky! The clouds and colors are fantastic, and I love the little glimpses of reflection.
2 very lovely photos of a sunrise. So glad the fires in Australia seem to be quieting down. That was horrible and all the lives that were lost.
A nice idea to show the same subject in both landscape and portrait formats. Personally I vote for the landscape one due to the horizontal lines in the composition, the puddles in the front and what I felt was too much emptiness on top of the one in portrait format.
I also felt that it was more complete and fitted the words better.
PS Thank you for the comment - it is going better now.
Lovely photoes from you again. Have a nice weekend:)

Is this a poem you have written?
I love it! It reminds me of an Italian poem I once read, about the Phoenician. Unfortunately I lost it, I shall keep yours, if you allow me.

Hi Reader Wil ,
Bedankt vopor je antwoord mbt (how delete..)
