Today I made a cycle ride in the surroundings of my village. The weather was warm and we enjoyed this ride very much. I took these photos, but I don't know the names of some flowers and birds. I hope somebody can help me!
I enjoyed watching your slide show, Wil. The countryside you photographed looks to lush and green and there was a total absence of commercial signs advertising goods and services. That in itself proves the people in business in your country are able to make a success out of what they do without despoiling the countryside with gaudy signs growing like weeds. Your weather must be ideal for I never saw a bare patch of just plain dirt anywhere--every square inch is growing something green.
Well thank you Abe. Now that you mention it, there are no commercial signs at all. I never thought about it before. These areas are also very quiet and protected, that means cars are not allowed here and dogs have to be kept on a leash during the breeding season. Thanks for your information about the Muscovy Duck. You see I added the name in my slide. About the weather I can say: yesterday was sunny and warm, now it's rainy and colder.
What a wonderful ride you must have had - it is so beautiful and peaceful there. I saw Irises (tall yellow), Buttercups (short yellow) but could not tell what the pink ones were. The Cygnets were so fluffy and adorable. The Muscovy ducks look like they have bad eye infections don't they LOL. Beautiful photos Wil.
Thank you Janice.It was a peaceful afternoon. There were more cyclists and two horsewomen, but no tourists, because they rather go to the windmills in the neighbourhood.

Would love to join you on a bike ride in the polder. While looking up the meaning of POLDER I saw this in Wikipedia: "The Netherlands is frequently associated with polders. This is illustrated by the English saying: God created the world, but the Dutch created Holland." Good work!
