Nobody needs to be ashamed...

A friend of mine who is a Dutch artist invited me to the opening of one of the expositions she is taking part in. This time the subject was support stockings, which seems a bit unusual, for I use support stockings on long bus trips or flights, and I can say, that they are so ugly, that I don't want to show them. The thing is that all kind of medical devices like wheelchairs, rollators, are ugly but necessary. The same with hearing aids, spectacles and whatever article you can think of to help people live easier and more comfortable. All these aids are are experiencing a time of emancipation. There are hearing aids in all possible shapes and colours, beautiful spectacles, race wheelchairs and turbo rollators. Nobody needs to be ashamed for one's handicap. I didn't go to the exposition but I saw the support stockings on this websight: www.kunststeunkous.nl.
