. Our World Tuesday, ABC Wednesday, I for Isabella Falls

                             Isabella Falls in Queensland

You'll find Isabella Falls on the Isabella Creek in Queensland about 1580km north-northwest of Brisbane . Isabella Falls is about 184m above sea level.

We estimate that Isabella Falls is between 7.9m and 11m high.

The nearest populated place is the village of Hope Vale which is 12km away with a population of around 750 indigenous people
.

To get from one bank to the opposite one you have to cross the fall

Welcome to Our World Tuesday! This meme continues in memory of the work of Klaus Peter, whose "that's My World" brought people together from around the world every Monday to share the wonders therein--big and small. Please click on our  logo for "Our World Tuesday" in the sidebar.

Beautiful! Hope you did not cross those falls (looks kind of dangerous!) Love your header, Wil!

Well, firstly Wil, I think your header is stunning. And the waterfall and the country surrounding it quite beautiful.

Incredible shots of the waterfall Wil, although
I wouldn't fancy crossing it on foot.
I would love to visit Australia but not possible
now.
I'm so pleased that your family are coming home
for Christmas, When I think of Holland at Wintertime
I have a vision of people skating on the frozen dykes and canals.
There used to be a painting in our local library that depicted
such a scene.
I guess they don't get ice and snow imn Australia?
Best wishes,
Di,

What a beautiful waterfall, Wil. I've always loved waterfalls and rivers.
But I was particularly struck today by the American quotation in your sidebar:
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood."

I like to think that all people are equal here in Canada. I probably think, deep down, that Canada has progressed farther than the US in this regard, but it isn't "all" Canadians yet. I am appalled when I see the opinions young people express. Not their own considered opinion, but quotations from anti-immigration and anti immigrant websites. It is particularly difficult when they are young people I knew when they were children.
So you've given me much to think about, along with your beautiful waterfall photos.
Love, K

Did you cross the Fall? It is so beautiful and green -- Waterfalls are one of my favorite things to visit and photograph.

Your header shot is so interesting -- I'm assuming there will be more information about it in one of your earlier posts -- I am going to scroll down right now.

Yes, we crossed the fall on the left side which you see on the last photo. It was not very dangerous.
