I liv near the windmills as you already know. There is a lot to tell about these mills, which are real lifesavers in a country that is so far below sealevel. I already did that many times on my blog.
Here you can see how the mills make a zigzag line, if you enlarge the photo

I've always been fascinated by the windmills and they were one of the things I enjoyed seeing "up close and personal" when I visited your country many years ago!! Hope your new year is off to a good start! Enjoy!
That makes perfect sense to me. I have seen some windmills nearby but they're nothing compared to the Dutch ones, I'm sure. :D You back for the next round?

I just adore mills Wil. Do I take it you are in Australia? If so, enjoy your stay and safe journey home.
I love reading about the windmills and your country...I guess because of childhood stories, it seems like I have always been fascinated with the Netherlands. Wish I could visit in person.
I'm sure you're still having a wonderful time with your family and I wish you and them a most joyful and happy 2014.
I didn't know that about windmills, - enjoyed seeing them as we passed through your country on the way to visit Canadian graves in Germany. Hope you are having a wonderful time with your family, Wil.
How interesting. I hadn't thought about the zig zag, but it makes perfect sense.
I have always thought windmills were rather magical.
Good one on zig zag.
Wish you a very Happy New Year!
I learn something new every time I read your post. Thank you.
smart idea about building them zig zag. Another useful way is when taking a group photo with say 4 layers, the one behind stand Zig zg=ag so the person infront don't block u.Almost same idea.
Sorry, I have not been visiting much.
I find windmills very fascinating but haven't seen any from up close. The zig zag is such a good idea. Loved your post.
