ABC Wednesday, S of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Sometimes the English pronunciation is very difficult. Try this word from the musical Mary Poppins:
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"
I can't pronounce it, at least not in one breath, but then again Julie Andrews and Dick van Dycke are the masters of this musical. Dick van Dycke speaks with a sort of cockney accent, something I have also tried, but didn't manage to do.
I have seen this musical several times and can't get enough of it. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

I hope you don't mind this cheerful post after the sad one yesterday. I had this post ready and scheduled long ago.
It is a great musical but I would have to disagree with you about Dick Van Dyke as his accent is awful. There was a TV programme on recently about the author of Mary Poppins meeting with Walt Disney. She very much opposed the making of the film but was won round in the end although she was very upset with Disney for using an American who couldn't quite get the London accent.
Mary Poppins is one of my favorites. I love the happiness and the thoughtful things sprinkled throughout the story. There will be a new movie coming out in December about Walt Disney and Mrs. Travers struggle to come to terms between her book and Disney's movie desires. It's called Saving Mr. Banks. Should be good.
If it hadn't been for the musical I wouldn't have been able to pronounce this word properly, - perhaps it wouldn't have existed except for the musical. I can remember using a phrase to learn how to pronounce australopithecine I think it was 'pass the bread and butter' Great post, Wil.
...Um diddle diddle... What a lot of great sing-along songs there were in Mary Poppins. Everyone always laughs at Dick Van Dykes failed attempt at a cockney accent, so funny.
Of course we don't mind...one can't dwell constantly on the sadness. It doesn't do anybody any good. Sometimes you have to work on being happy and these great musicals are perfect to put one in a good mood.
Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies when I was a child, and it later became one of my daughters' favorites too. As a matter of fact, my HS just popped our video of it a couple of weeks ago. Blessings!

Love the rhythm of that word. One of the few musicals I enjoyed-the other favorite also had Julie Andrews in it.

THe musical is fun but is not nearly so good as the books -- some of my childhood favorites.
Interesting that the snake handling made it into international news. I know some of my readers thought I was making up the whole snake handling thing.
