The Netherlands, Royalty News

Two weeks ago Prince Johan Friso, the second son of our Queen, got a terrible accident due to an avalanche. He was buried for more than 20 minutes under a thick layer of snow while he was skiing in the neighbourhood of Lech, Austria, and then resuscitated for 50 minutes, which is too long and normally not done.He suffered massive brain damage. He will probably never regain conciousness. Our thoughts are with the royal family. Queen Beatrix was still in Lech and Friso's wife Mabel and two little daughters too. The Queen and Mabel visited him daily. Today we heard the news that the prince has been taken to a special hospital in London, where he and his family live.

This is so sad Wil... I didn't know about it. And I can imagine his family must be traumatised.

Oh, that is so heartbreaking, Wil! We've lost five people in avalanches here in Washington in the past ten days. My heart does indeed go out to his family!

I have read today that he is now in a hospital in London. It's really terrible.
I am enjoying my holidays in the South of France where I stay with an (ex blog) friend. It's so warm and nice !

That is so sad! I did read in our newspaper that he'd been in an avalanche but not what ensued afterwards. My prayers go to the entire family and that God would answer a prayer for a miracle.

I've heard of this accident. It must be very hard on his family and the entire royal family. There have been several deaths because of avalanches in this country this winter.

Oh Wil, this is a bad situation. We followed the Prince's accident here on Israel news and I was so sad. But what you tell us now is even sadder.
God help the family and the Dutch people.

This is such a tragic story which I would never have known of if it hand;t been for you. All of our new over here is one politician being rude and crude to another. To have to sit bedside and watch your child in this condition must be devastating. My thoughts and prayers for the child and the family go with this post. Miracles do happen. genie
