Our World Tuesday, ABC Wednesday S for Sand Sculptures

In October I had a short break in a holiday resort in Putten, a village in Gelderland on the Veluwe, and joined several excursions. One of them was going to a park where we could see twelve enormous sand sculptures outside. All of them very beautiful see for yourself .
Inside there was another collection of sand sculptures all dealing with life at the bottom of the sea. It was as if we walked deep under the ocean, like in Jules Verne's book:" 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

That's magnificent. When I was in Edingburgh a few years ago they had artists constructing huge sand castles, much like this one.

Beautiful sand sculptures. We have a summer festival on nearby Texada Island for sand sculptures. The ferry over gets full so you have to plan ahead. - Margy

We have a sandsculpture exposition each year at Blankenberge. This year I haven't been there because it was all Disney figures but usually it's very nice !

I feel a heartache when they demolish the sand scultures. Such a lot of work for a short time.

Oh wow!!! This is absolutely amazing! I love looking at sand sculptures. Perhaps the impermanence of it makes it even more something to be appreciated.
