Sunday Bridges, Netherlands, Gouda III

Posted by Picasa

Another bridge in Gouda.Gouda is a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Gouda, which was granted city rights in 1272, is famous for its Gouda cheese, smoking pipes, and its 15th century city hall. But also for candles and beautiful pottery!

Louis from San Francisco started this meme, and many of us like to join in.

Very lovely, Wil. I'd love to go back to Gouda again after seeing your photos.

It's interesting to note that people will build houses just about anywhere.

I'm sure I would enjoy visiting Gouda and NOT just because of the cheese. :)

Lovely to see images of the country where I spent my "lagere school" years. I'd love a hunk of aged Gouda on a "broodje" right now...

That is a lovely little bridge – but I’d like to go back to Gouda … for the cheese!
