Our thoughts are with Japan

Posted by Picasa

All morning I have been watching TV and the horrific news about the tsunami. I am shocked to see the flood coming so fast into the city of Sendai. The earthquake was very strong and the tsunami followed very fast. Well I am sure you all are watching. I hope that our Japanese bloggers are safe. I also hope that the people from Hawaii, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, California, Mexico, Chili and all other countries in the Ring of Fire will be safe.
Pray if you can pray for all those people! I admire the brave and levelheaded Japanese people and the way they face the catastrophe.

You are very fast ,Reader Wil.

They say we might get Tsunami here.

Re: Hindu brides, I don't think any will be happy when they are arranged marriages.

Even Christian Indian, met a girl who married her stranger husband via the internet. I have a feeling, she wanted to leave India to come to NZ. Marriage was a disaster.

Yesterday, she told us, the parent are arranging the younger sis to some one from USA. (I didn't want to say, your parents stupid or what? One disaster is not enough.)

Yes, 8.9 is a huge earthquake.
Our poor friend Kay of Musings in Hawaii already heard their tsunami siren and she is worried sick about the relatives in Sendai and Tokyo.

Australia is also under a tsunami watch.
God help them all.

Hi, Reader Will,

Thank you for your visit, inquiry and concerns. This is really a massive earthquake. I’m watching TV, so shocked. All the people involved are in my prayers and thoughts. Fortunately I’m not directly affected by it.

It would be a bit early to tell this, but I believe people get together to overcome this catastrophe like the time of Hanshin Earthquake (1995).

Thank you again. You’re so sweet.

It is such a devastating event, Reader. All we can do is hope for the best, that too many lives aren't lost. It's frightening.

What... This is the second time in a few weeks that I first learn about world news of this magnitude from a private blog rather than TV or radio... Haven't quite taken it in yet.

Vourock, thanks for your comment! I cannot reach your blog, but I answer you this way!

Reader wil,
Thank you for your concern. The earthquake was huge and powerful. I am very sad it destroyed these beautiful cities. Fortunately Nara is far away from the epicenter. All of us are OK. I wish tremors stop as soon as possible and no more lost. Now I pray for people in the afflicted area.

Our petty worries are nothing compared with this Wil - my thoughts are with those people, particularly the people in the Pacific Islands where we are told that the islands are so low in the water that there is nowhere for the people to go.

I awakened about 2 a.m. U.S. time and saw some of the first reports on the earthquake/tsunami to be aired on US TV. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been and still will be affected by this natural disaster.

It certainly was a shock greeting us when we woke up this morning. My heart and prayers go out to the Japanese people. What a dreadful thing.
I have blog buddies in Hawaii plus on the west coast of the US but so far, it seems they have been spared.
Our world has shrunken so via the Internet so that even far off disasters have become personal.

Such an awful disaster - our thoughts and prayers to the courageous and strong people of Japan. They are definitely survivors.
Interesting this:
Trade center attacks. 2001 - 11/9.
Haiti earthquake. 2010 - 11/1.
Japan earthquake.  2011 -  11/3.
Makes you wonder ...yes?

My heart breaks as I watch buildings float into buildings. Life is as delicate as it is precious.

Reader Wil,
Hi again.
Thanks for your deep concern about the people in the afflicted area of Northern Japan.
Actually this area had experienced terrible Tunami a few times, so they had well prepared by building solid and high breakwaters. But TV showed huge Tuname getting over them easily, carrying a fishing boat. It was the most devastating scene I had ever seen.
Thank you and everybody for praying for the people. I pray for no more loss, nor more suffering!

Thank you for your kind thoughts, Wil and everyone. It really is a scary time. We finally heard from our relatives that they are OK although they've sustained heavy damage in Sendai. Hawaii is more or less OK. We have just one friend we are on edge about in Tokyo. He's not answering e-mails and no one answers the phone at their house. It's scary.

Thank you for the prayers! And we keep praying for the afflicted in Japan.
The waves has reached here but we are out of danger now.

Happy weekend.

I think we have all been shocked by the pictures and videos of the tsunami, and now there are concerns about the power plants. The people of Sendai (and other places) need our prayers and whatever help we can give.

It's terrible. Nature has shown us that is still ruling the land.
