Sky Watch, Weekend Reflections in New Zealand

Posted by Picasa

In January 2005 we were staying in a holiday park in Richmond, South Island, New Zealand. At the end of a day of walking and enjoying the summer weather we saw this beautiful goodbye of the sun, reflecting in one of the windows of a holiday home. Every day the sun goes down and leaves us with the good or bad memories of what happened that day.

Yes, Wil, our thoughts go out to the people of New Zealand, not least to the rescue workers who now have the terrible task of clearing the remains.

A very beautiful sunset - I really love the reflection on the window in the bottom photo.

I also looked at your previous post - and my heart goes out to the people of New Zealand as well. I hope there is good news about your blogging friend?

I don't know how I have missed so many of your posts recently, Wil, but I do apologize for having missed yours on New Zealand! My heart goes out to the people there and I'm just grateful that your daughter/family are safe! To think you were right there in Christchurch such a short time ago! And the lost of that magnificent cathedral is heartbreaking!! Anyway, I love your posts/photos and reflections as always. I do hope you have a great weekend and again, my thoughts and prayers are with your daughter and the people of Christchurch.

Take care,

Sylvia

Beautiful! I know that the sun is setting on NZ's sorrows and will rise on her strengths.

Beautiful captures and reflections!

Thoughts and prayers always. We have people still trapped there.

Les lumières du crépuscule sont si belles. J’aime le rose tendre dans vos photos.
Quel tragédie ce tremblement de terre en Nouvelle Zélande. J’espère qu’il n’y aura pas trops de victimes.

I really like the color of the sky in these photos. It's nice to see beautiful pictures from New Zealand rather than picture of destruction.
