that's My World, ABC Wednesday U for Universe
This post is about OUR world, so I thought that the Universe was a good subject to think about. We are all part of it and it is amazing that we earthlings cannot live in peace with each other, and that we are arrogant enough to tell the rest of the world what one should or should not do. So let's think big, think Universe!!
The size of the Universe is beyond our imagination. We know that our planet is a small one, that our sun is much bigger and yet it is an insignificant small star in this universe.
That's my World is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia - a Team of experienced bloggers, whom we thank for this wonderful meme. You can see more of the world of other bloggers by clicking on the logo in the side bar or on that's My World
With thanks to Denise Nesbitt, who created ABC.We started a new round of the fascinating meme of ABC. For more interesting ABC posts click on the logo in the sidebar or Here. This week we are looking for words beginning with U.

You are so right Wil.
Arcturus really puts us in our place doesn't it? We truly are small fish in a huge pond and shouldn't feel so self important.
Mind boggling and oh so fascinating isn't it? Fabulous post Wil! I agree with your thoughts. There are so many things about life that will remain a mystery to us...things beyond our comprehension.
Great thoughts! We are indeed but a tiny bauble in the huge grand scheme of things...
Our world put in perspective, and yes, wouldn’t it be nice if we could share it in peace.
Dona nobis pacem
Oh, I love your post, Wil, as always! And like the others, I agree with your thoughts, we are definitely a very, very small bubble in this incredible universe! Thank you as always for the wonderful things that you share with us! Have a wonderful week!
Sylvia
These shots make us look so insignificant!
Size is relative, for sure! Wonderful illustration of our place in the grand scale of things!
Thank you for this, it is such a good reminder of how we live in such a small wee part of the universe. Your words here really express how I feel too....
"We are all part of it and it is amazing that we earthlings cannot live in peace with each other, and that we are arrogant enough to tell the rest of the world what one should or should not do."
One things I enjoy most about having a blog is all I have learnt from others about our wonderful world, I feel so much richer for all this contact.
This is a wonderful post. Thank you for reminding us how we fit in this big universe.
In the scheme of things, we are but a microbe and just think how important politicians and company directors feel they are!
mooie en interesante My World Tuesday post
Hele fijne week,

Shows how unimportant we are doesn't it?
It's good to put things in perspective and consider the big picture. Great post.
Great video clip and I love the final words. The universe is really, really big.
We are so small and think we are the answer to everything.
Very thought provoking post today. Love it.
The visuals are GREAT, Wil. Yet we used to believe that our sun, the stars and the planets circled around us.

A subject that I find extremely interesting. I'm afraid many people do not understand how important these relationships are. They think we are the masters of the Universe. We are not - we can't even take proper care of our own tiny bit of it.
So how big is the 'Us' then! Microscopic!
Great post Wil, and wonderfully interesting photos to go with it. I received an email today about the laymen's research and observations into the Milky Way, - a trip around the Universe surely puts things into perspective.
Wonderful idea for this week. :D
Children like to say, My dad is the biggest in the whole wide universe."
The Universe is always so very fascinating - new things showing up all the time. I'm really enjoying your banners!
I'm always amazed by how tiny we are. And how fragile and strong at the same time.
We so often say 'it's a small world' describing how we meet friends in the most far-away places, but it really is a small world. You have just shown us that!
Great choice on how to present the concept of 'universe'!
Crikey, .that is big
lol, but didn't he miss out pluto?
This is just fantastic. We live in an amazing world. Oh, to love it!
The Universe. Perfect choice for the U-challenge. I did think of it myself, but I had trouble deciding how to illustrate it. You did well!
Best wishes,
Anna

It is an amazing place we live in. And unfathomable as well.
I liked your choice for U.
I also think it's arrogant to think there is no life on another planet in the universe. I wonder if they are able to live in peace better than we are.
Love this post Wil and it's timeless message. Excellent choice for the theme.
It's frighting and adorable at the same time, isn't it? The universe I mean...
