Sky Watch

November is the month to remember in more than one way for me: my father died on November 2nd, 1959, and my husband on November 9th, 1999, and the past few weeks we were remembering the casualties of all the wars of the twentieth century. Every time I see a sunset in November, I will think of the following poem:

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left, grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

By Laurence Binyon

Glorious skies and the perfect remembrance of the many who have given their lives that we may enjoy freedom. May we never forget the debt we owe them! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Wil!

Beautiful photos to accompany those stirring words. I hope we shall never forget the harm that war brings, for decades and generations following.

Really love that last picture and those words are perfect for those who have lost someone prematurely.
I'm sorry November holds such sadness for you. I lost both my parents in November, though years apart, at Thanksgiving. That holiday is always tinged a bit with sadness at the loss but also sweetness as I remember the good.

November is such a sad month for you Wil. No matter how beautiful your sunsets are, they cannot take away the pain of loss.

That poem has so much relevance, especially now that we have soldiers giving their lives over in the middle east.

This is the darkiest day for New Zealand, especially this is the 21st century, and when the Chilleans were all saved after being trapped for so long.

Each man had a story. The young was only 17.

Thank you Reader Wil, Yes, my son's 21st anniversary is on Nov 22nd.
I cried for myself, I cried for the mums.

You are the first in blog land I am sharing this, because you have always been special to be because you are among the earliest I have been exchanging comments.

I have just finished the first draft of my book, it is my testimony of my life. Please pray that it will get published.
