Sky Watch The Heavens are telling

I like the images of this video but I prefer the music of the video below.

The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.

Today that is coming speaks it the day,
The night that is gone to following night.
The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.

In all the lands resounds the word,
Never unperceived, ever understood.
The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.

This sounds as it was meant.

Sky Watch is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy & Louise
Thank you so much for this great meme, it's always a pleasure to participate, and see all the other skies around the world. If you want to see some real skies please click on the logo in the side bar.

SkyWatch par excellence.
I don't know which is more impressive--God's heavens, Haydn's music, or your post!

Of all the images, I think I like the first one best. I'm pretty sure it was taken not that far from where I live. I never even thought about how cool it would be to get sky pictures from there!

One of my favourite pieces of choral music, reader wil. I have sung in it many times and it always gives me a thrill. Love that photo of Sturn too. When my son's children bought him a telescope for his birthday he called me to look at saturn and the rings were amazing.

Great skywatch post. I love the images and no doubt about they are best accompanied by the music as it's meant to be. Glad you included both. Listening to it I'm pretty sure I've sung that back when I used to sing in a choir way back when.

What a wonderful skywatch post! The celestial images are beautiful in the first video...but the music in the second is heavenly...

Janie said...

I agree, the perfect combo would be the first video with the second video's music!

This is probably my favorite Haydn work. I agree with you about the sound in the second video. But thanks for the images of the first.

Beautiful Post. The music is Marvelous and the pictures spectacular.

I belong to a Handbell Choir who once prepared The Heavens are Telling as a presentation piece, - it was wonderful to play - such vitality.

Are you a member of The Galaxy Zoo where you explore the heavens digitally, looking for various phenomenon to map the skies? It is great fun.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.

Dear Wil,

So sorry to hear that Cancer took your husband from you and also so many members of your family.

I was reading today, in New Zealand 1 in 3 has cancer. In my husband's side opf the family, colon cancer killed his dad and cousin.

My kids in school were great. A 5 year old said," when you have cancer, you lost all your hair."

Have a good weekend,

Ann.

We have been a few days in North Carolina again and I am catching up. I listened to your music clips – I really like the young flutist. Just like you I did not care very much for the Harmonica Ensemble on “The Heavens are Telling” it just did not have the warm sound of the full orchestra.
