The weather was good and dry when I posted a letter at four o'clock in the afternoon. Then all of a sudden it started to rain a bit. Nothing much. But a quarter to six it started again to rain, now it was a heavy down-pour with big hailstones. There was also some lightning and a thunderstorm brewing. I shut down the computer and took some photos of the rain coming down in buckets. It only lasted ten minutes, but the sewers couldn't take such an amount of water at once. So from my toilets the water gushed in the air, and my bathroom and lavatory were very wet. It's the second time this month.
The rain caused also damage on my topfloor. The gutter was overflowing and the skylight was leaking as well.

I have often wished I had taken a photograph of heavy rain reader wil - this really shows it well. And I love the way you put a sunny one at the end. Hope all is well now.

Oh I wish it would do that here!
Not the exploding torlit deal or hail but just a pure D downpour!
Hope it didn't do too much damage! xoxo

I pray that someone will at your rescue to salvage the leaking roof.

Every picture looks clear and beautiful. My first reaction was to sing "Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain" until I read the caption below.

Hi Bonnie I tried to thank you for your comment, but I couldn't do that on one of your blogs. I am so sorry, because I appreciate your comments very much, and I always answer all the comments I get. Fortunately I am okay and the damage can be repaired. Have a great day!

There I was enjoying your great shots and thinking how good your garden looks and that beautiful reflection in the last shot, when I read of, oh dear, the geyser in your bathroom and leaking skylight.
What a mess to clean up and waterdamage as well and to have it happen twice in a week as well!
Commiserations.

That looked much worse what we have had. We have even had a few moments of sun this evening!! Unbelievable.

But you did get some nice pictures of rain.

Gosh that's a shame about all the damage. I liked your shots and I love rain in the summer when it's needed but downpours like you had would bother me, especially dealing with the damage.

Good grief, I love rain but honestly "a geyser in your bathroom and leaking skylight" sure take the fun out.
Hope you are back functioning now.

Oh I like the puppie! So sweet! What breed is it? I have tibbies and puppies just now :)
The rain is in the sky and on the ground even here.

Sorry to hear about the leaky skylight. That's not good at all!

But the photos are great! I never think to take out my camera during a rain!

It's bad enough if just one of those things go wrong, but so much mess from every corner of the house. I hope things are looking up by now.

But, you captures some nice pictures of the rain...

It rained here all day yesterday and evening plus part of this morning. I did get out around 3 pm and mowed. Did grocery shopping early this morning while it was still misting.

Looking at your photos I found myself a bit jealous of the rain, but reading of the water damage stopped me in my tracks. I'm saddened by this news and hope repairs won't be too costly.
Hugs and blessings,

Oh dear, what a mess! Too much of a good thing, I guess.

Oh, my stars, what a deluge! The rain pictures are fatastic, Wil, but having water gushing up from the toilets and a leaking skylight must have been a bit unnerving. And all the clean up from such a mess! You poor Wil.

I hope things have dried out by now, and you rested up from that job.

Hugs,

Renie

That reminds me so much of my last trip to Holland 3years ago. We ran into a fair share of down pours. Sorry to hear about your washroom. Hopefully no lasting damage!
We have had an exceptionally rainy, cool summer in Ontario.

Great shots! That is serious rain.
Your cat pictures stole my heart though :)

From the photos, I was thinking your world had been washed clean... but after hearing about the bathroom and skylight problems, I see it wasn't a good thing for the house. Hope you didn't have too much damage once the cleanup was done.

Thank you for coming to my blog. To answer your question: I was born and raised in France. Your photos are so good of the rain that I would almost take an umbrella to just look at them! Here in Georgia it does rain that hard sometimes, and then we hear sirens because a tornado is approaching and we have to take cover. It’s scary.

Great photos of the rain, - sorry it did so much damage. We had storms here today, and a beautiful sunset to complement the thunder and lightning.

Great shots, but I'm sorry to hear about the damage it did. :(

It seems all we've had lately is rain. No real summer weather this year.

You took some wonderful photos, Wil but I'm sorry for all the damage the hard rains caused you.
I guess its like the old saying 'it doesn't rain but it pours'... but it shouldn't pour into you house!
I hope you have a dry weekend :D

Geweldige foto's !!!

Dat viel tegen want het is toch wel een beetje verslavend :)
Fijne avond !!

Hey, I was caught in that same storm. *wink*

Last night as I slept we had just experienced such a storm.
Horrendous lightning and thunder that shook that building with such rage.
The wind pushed the rains and hail against the windows which I sure would crack the glass.
Large branches littered the streets and the river beside us filled fast.
But previous to that, the day was extremely HOT and uneventful. I really had no idea this storm was in store.
I'm off to work so it'll be interesting to see what damages will be around as it is extremely early in the A.M.

A nice grouping of Mother Nature's doing for the environment! And, you captured the storm very well, I wish that I could upgrade to a decent camera and be able to post some items around my area...Again, thank you for the visit to your most interesting blog...
