Camera Critters, at The Castle of Cheverney

To enlarge the images please click on slide!

The sky over Cheverny was blue and promised a great day! The hounds, which I chose for Camera Critters, were having a difficult time coping with the heat. Hunting is a regular pastime. It is said to be necessary to keep the game population in good condition and avoid overpopulation of boar and deer.

Camera Critters is hosted by Misty Dawn. Thank you so much Misty Dawn.We all enjoy seeing and talking about animals. All creatures great and small give us much pleasure. If you want to see more Camera Critters click on the logo in the side bar.

So those dogs really work for their keep, eh?
Wil, you could open a new blog of castles.

Poor little fellow, hope he had a big pan of water and a cool shade tree to get under.

Can you imagine living in a castle like that? I can't.

Beautiful dogs -- I'm partial to hounds. Parts of the castle look as if someone lives there -- do you know if that's true?

I think hounds are among the most majestic of dogs. We have fox hounds near to us - they are so well behaved when out on exercise - wish you could see them wil.

What a life those people had. I wonder if they appreciated the plenty or just expected it.
The hedges are so precise, you could serve dinner on them.
Wonderful pictures and I like your directorial credit.

That castle is beautiful, and huge! It must take an army of help to keep it clean!

The dog does look exhausted from running after the game. We have hunting season once a year only, thank goodness. Your little dog in the header and sidebar is just the cutest!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Renie

PS. Wil I would send you a friend request on Facebook, but I don't know your last name.

I like both the Camera Critters and the Castle. You got some wonderful pictures.

I imagine they had wolfhounds and deerhounds to chase the deer, and the boarhounds would be like Great Danes.

This is so different to the magnificent castle inyour previous post.
I like th more homey atmosphere here although there were no indoor shots of the other one. I like the stables and the poor hang -dog looking hounds too.
Thank you for your most complimentary comment on my poem, I am sure if your namesake had read it he would be squirming in his grave to have my lowly efforts so elevated.

What an amazing castle! And the hounds look hot... but they're handsome.

I remember Cheverney well. We still have a photograph of Grace and out daughter in front of it taken 25 years ago in our living room. It has such beautiful interior and the hounds were really impressive animals. I think they breed them on the estate. The photos are magnificent.

Just beyond gorgeous!

Yeah, we would have been burned at the stake for sure! So sad there are still women being murdered for using their minds. :(

The castle photos are beautiful and those are some good-looking hounds.

Beautiful whether wet or dry. We have hollyhocks in our backyard.
