Sky Watch The mysterious balloon.
Click on photos to see the balloon.
The first photo is a wind vane. I saw it every day over the roof of the house of my friends. It represents the family: The father, who is a pianist, the mother, who plays all eight recorders ,the two girls, who are dancing and the two dogs. There is no mistake about that: it's lovely in one word. The family is a very special family indeed.
When we went to visit the castle of Chambord, we saw a mysterious, white balloon moving slowly over the roof of the castle. It was fastened with a long line to a long pole, which a man was holding like a fishing rod, and a thing, like a camera, was hanging under it. What was it doing there?? If any one of you knows why and what this thing was doing there, I'll be very much obliged for the explanation.
Sky Watch is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy & Louise
Thank you so much for this great meme, it's always a pleasure to participate, and see all the other skies around the world. If you want to see some real skies please click on the logo in the side bar.

what beautiful captures...love the weather vane and the large white balloon is interesting against the beautiful architecture.
have a wonderful evening.
Wil...I wonder too! It looks so cool in the breeze! I look for ANYTHING to make me feel cooler!
xoxo
Amazing architecture, you captured it perfectly.
Have a great weekend.

The wind vane is beautiful, Wil! Your friends who own it must be a very special family.
Hmm, don't know about the balloon. Perhaps it's some sort of weather device, measuring wind velocity, or something.
Beautiful sky watch shots!
Hugs,
Renie
What a beautiful weather vane, so delicate looking, and very intriguing about your white balloon. I wonder what it was for.

Voici un exemple de billet sur les girouettes , il suffit de cliquer sur le lien permanent "girouettes"
D'après mon époux, géographe, c'est certainement un ballon d'observation météo
Je n'arrive pas à mettre un lien , je vais trouver une autre solution
Beautiful photos. =)
What a neat wind vane!! Love the mysterious balloon.
That weather vane is absolutely stunning. I'll send you an e-mail as to what Abe thinks the balloon might be doing.
Marvelous shots as always, Wil! I love the weather vane and the balloon! It is interesting in the midst of the lovely architecture!
Enjoy your weekend!
J'ai exposé trois photos de girouettes offertes par Cergie. En cliquant sur "girouettes" (en-dessous du billet) vous pourrez voir toute ma série !
Impressive architectures captured brilliantly. I love the weather vane, very interesting details.
I just love that balloon. It is so gentle and calming as are these images.
Lovely and so detailed a weather vane. Too nice to stick on a roof out of view.
Probably a weather balloon but I am guessing. It distracts from such a lovely castle though. Beautiful pictures.
The wind vane is wonderful! I've never seen one like that before. Thank you for telling us about it.
I was here to look too, Wil, but Patty sent you an email to explain what I think it is. So will leave it at that.
It sure is a nice looking set of photos.
Beautiful photographs!
The balloon reminds me of the old 70's British television show "The Prisoner".
My Skywatch is here
Hoi Wil., goed om u nog te zien... The weather vane is a creative one and how delightful to see that white balloon. I wish I knew what it was doing there too. :) Groetjes!
A balloon mystery! And I cannot help you! Great building though! But I adore the weather vane, must be one of a kind that one!
I am impressed by the architecture! Need to come back here and check to see if you have more detailed pictures. I don't have time now.
Lovely shots. Like Miss Yves and Renie Burghardt I wonder if it is a weather balloon of some description?
Gave you a good photo or two though!
Wonderful pictures today.
Perhaps the baloon was taking pictures?
Aloha!

The story and pictures were very worth sharing with us. Thanks Wil!

Love that weather vane.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
These are interesting and wonderful and fun. The vane amazes me.
Hi Wil, I love the weather vane and its reference to family. Nice photos of your travels, too...
We visited Chambord some twenty years ago, can't believe they are still renovate it. As for the ballon, you do not know that is how aerial photos are taken!!!
Gorgeous captures !!!
I love that weather vane...so touching that the family have memoralised themselves like that ..
I also really love your shots of the castle...
Now as far as the ballon goes. You heard of that American TV show called 'Cheaters'? Well Donald Trump's wife has heard that he's staying at the castle with a mystery woman. That balloon belongs to TV show and they are slowly sneaking up on the bedroom where the pair are...
No ?? Oh well, it sounded good :-)
And just to cover my butt, that was my imagination running wild ... I hope.. :-)
Happy SWF and have a great weekend. :-)
I love the weathervane - great story and great skies.
Wonderful BLUE skies and fun to watch the balloon ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
