that's My World, Sewer System Renewed.

It started half February!

The last two photos were from 19th of March 2009.

But what is happening all the time? Well the whole sewer system had to be renewed and the small football and play field for the children had to be drained properly. Not only that, but the gas mains had to be checked as well! All in all a messy street was the result of all those activities. And the field is not ready yet. I don't know how they will create new grass on it.Well we shall see!

Maybe they will lay sod squares for fast growth Wil. That Puppy is gonna turn me into a three dog household yet! :)

Here that would have taken 6 months. They would put it all back, put on new landscaping, then realize they forgot something and dig it up again for another 3 months!

I think this is called, "progress" over here.

Obviously they are being paid by the hour. Such a mess and I feel for you but selfishly I must say-- better thee than me since it is all ready thee.
I agree with the above, that is a major cute pup. If you ever breed him or her, you can name your price.

That is a common view all over the world. Half finished things. I hope you had happy Easter holiday.

Unfortunately, I would have to agree with Louise! That's exactly what would happen here in Seattle! I'm holding good thoughts for you!!

I love your puppy! Interesting post -- ah, those everyday reminders!

You're getting new sewer system? That's good. Well, except for the minor inconveniences now.

BTW, who is that on your header. He/she's a darling.

The only time things get fixed here is during election time. What a mess - hopefully it will all be repaired soon.

Gosh, that does look like quite a big mess... I'm thinking that they will probably put sod down, there's no way I can see grass seed taking hold... at least not for a long time.
Keep us informed!

That looks like a mess. Projects like that always seem to take much longer than we think they should.

I just love the puppy at the top of your page. Progress is so messy sometimes. Fortunately the outcome is usually worthwhile.

I hope everything will be neater and better after all the digging.

It is no different here and the transition period is the messiest period.
The pup in the header is so cute.

I don't envy you -with things broken up like that, it may take a long time! I'm not even talking about grass - I think you'll be glad when they have all closed it up!

I was going to say that these are the ugliest pictures I've seen on your blog. LOL But actually, you still managed to find great color and composition. You're awesome, Wil.

These projects seem to take forever no matter where you are.

Another of the signs of spring. Roadworks. And taking for ever. But I guess a non functional sewige system is not much good either. Still the kiddos wants their football pitch back for the summer season so hurry up you workers.
The puppy is adorable to say the least.

It is not all beautiful, sometimes it is plain necessity.

Infrastructure , like people gets old ad needs maintenance or repacing. In the meantime there is a long time of mess but when it is all finished and spruced up again, people forget about the inconvenience and get on withtheir normal lives again.

A very realistic my world post. We have ongoing projects here too. What struck me with the images was in such grey world it's peppered with pockets of green and red. Really striking.

It seems that public works projects are the same the world over - slow!

You definately ought to be a teacher, oh that's right, you are. Not everyone has the ability to relay information that is both informative and interesting. You do that very thing. Thanks for a usually great post.

Now that's an absolute pain. You don't have to go too far without seeing roadworks do you? Great My World post.

Something like that type of work always makes such a mess. I bet they will bring sod in and lay it down, that way they will have the grass instantly.

Glennis said...

Sure its messy now, but there is plenty of mess in most of our lives at times, all will be well in time!
Lawn will probably be laid in long strips of turf that will soon take.
