CC. Sparrow
The Old World true sparrows are indigenous to Europe, Africa and Asia. In Australia and the Americas, early settlers imported some species which quickly naturalised, particularly in urban and degraded areas. House Sparrows, for example, are now found throughout North America, in every state of Australia except Western Australia, and over much of the heavily populated parts of South America.
These sparrows were all waiting on a pavement outside a souvenirshop near the windmills for customers to sit there and have coffee and, in our case, a sandwich.Sparrows are the commonest birds in my country, you can think of.But they are cheeky and funny and always happy to join you.
Camera Critters is hosted by Misty Dawn. Thank you so much Misty Dawn.We all enjoy seeing and talking about animals. All creatures great and small give us much pleasure. If you want to see more Camera Critters click on the logo in the side bar

I recently found out sparrows are the official bird of Belgrade. Sparrows have jumped back to number one as the top garden visitor in the UK. A much underated bird.
Cute birds.
They are so cute little birdies!
How true about the sparrows. Also love the wild animal pics on yhe right side of your blog! Happy spring cleaning! I've gotten out of the habit...
I never knew that they aren't indigenous to the Americas! I see them everywhere..
Precious dog and cat. Great shots of the sparrows. They inhabit all our stores that have garden centers, eventually migrating through out the store having a grand time. They should be called store sparrows. If we didn't have blue birds.......
I'm with Bruce the Cat, we could share them.
The header picture is very cute!
Dear little sparrows - bright and chirpy. I like the way they hop happily around coffee shops - they have much nicer personalities than seagulls!
Your banner is adorable. House sparrows..I sure have them around here..lots of them.
I love sparrows, Wil. They may not be colourful but they are NICE birds.
I really like the dog in your header. What a cutie!
Love the little doggie in your header. Hope you're having an enjoyable week-end. Going to get off and pop some corn for the family.
Wil, I am sorry your family has left again and you are bereft at Easter time. At least you have the spring to comfort you.
The Sparrows in W.A. were exterminated in a detrimental way to other forms of life as well. Perhaps necessary to preserve crops, but very unconsidered all the same.
When I was young, I heard a probably propaganda story of communist China. When they organized the commune in the Chinese countryside, the authority thought the sparrows ate too much crop. They ordered all the farmers to go out chasing the sparrows, not letting them to land and killing all the birds. The next year, there was the big famine due to all the insects ate the crop. I do not know how true was the story. But people should not mess with the nature. Long live all the sparrows.
Sparrows live here in Hawaii too, Wil ;-)
Aloha-
Sparrows are vital to maintain balance in nature. You have some good shots and they don't seem to be afraid of your lens.
Knappe foto's heb je hier gepost.
Groetjes
Bij ons is het huismussentelweekend over veertien dagen. De huismus was bijna uitgestorven in onze landen. De rug is nog steeds niet goed, zenuw gekneld, zal naar de chiropractor moeten.
Hi Wil,
I have lots of sparrows because I feed them with my excess rice and bread. I used to throw away the rice, and one day, i experimented to see if they ate rice. And they did. It is fascinating to see about fifty birds swoop down and eat the rice or bread.
Your photos are good. I haven't been able to take such close ups, and I have given up. So only I get to feast my eyes.
I took some pics of the house sparrow yesterday. Up close. Beak a bit messy from eating the suet.
I love watching the sparrows in the backyard or in the woods. Neat photos Wil.
Gosh what an adorable header!
I'm nearly through my spring cleaning too :)
I love sparrows, they're so tiny and sweet
Great shots of the sparrows, and I'm LOVIN your header!!!
Thanks for the anniversary wishes and thanks for making CC so great!
