A not so sunny sky over the Endeavour River in August 2008.
Captain Cook had landed in this area in June 1770. Cooktown didn't exist then and the river was called Wahalumbaal, but it got the name of Endeavour River after Cook's ship. The river is a very long one, twisting inland, and it harbours all kind of unique animals like saltwater crocs.

Those are all beautiful shots. I really like the green tint of the water in the first shot.
It looks like a lovely spot, river, land, beach and all. But I have heard some nasty stories about those saltwater crocs...

Oh - I long for summer! Then I can visit the harbor in Oslo, listen to the seagulls, happy voices, get a little sunburn...and dream of the country Captain Cook visited! Not sure about the croks though.... Great shots!

Nice pictures. We have a lot here called after captain Cook In the first place Mount Cook
Are there crocodiles in the river? Last November, my husband went to Queensland on a out back job. He saw a crocodile. Must look back among my archives to see where he went.
