On my last day in Australia in 2007, my daughter, her children and I stayed at The Lakes Cairns Resort & Spa. We had a lovely walk in the Botanical Gardens, which was close to the holiday resort. We saw beautiful plants and flowers, but also geese and other water birds.

That looks like a good place to vacation during the winter. Although I must admit my circadian rhythms get messed up living down here in Florida ... there is a side of me that misses the snow.
