ABC Wednesday F for France.

Friday 3rd August 2007.
After a long drive from our home in Holland, my daughter, Superkid, his father and I arrived very late at a campsite in the middle of France, where we were setting up tents at 23.00 hours in the dark.

Our place of destination was Messanges 45 kilometres north of Biarritz and 150 kilometres south of Bordeaux on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.

Saturday,4th August 2007.
A long day of travelling on roads with one traffic jam after the other took us to Messanges where we arrived at 23.00 hours. The owner of the house found us in the middle of the village and guided us to the house. She is a wonderful person and so is her partner. After having a glass of wine together we settled in the house and went to bed.
These were the surroundings of our holiday residence: Sea, forest and a kind of lake formed by the sea. We walked, cycled and swam and had a pleasant week together.

Saturday, 11 August 2007
On our way back to Holland we came through the town of Montbazon and saw this castle ruin, so we went to have a closer look. The lady who sold us the tickets, told us that a team of archeologists has been working in the ruins for four years now.

What an adventurer you are, Wil!
The places look like fun, once you get there.

my brother went for years on vacation in that area -the closest we came was Geneva! Looks like you enjoyed your time there.

Hi Sylvia Thanks for your kind words.
Dina, yes as long as I can do that I go on. And I believe so do you!
Miss Yves!
Hi Jeannette, thanks for your comment. I hope I can write a comment on your blog because yesterday it didn't work and there was another similar blog with the same problem.

One thing I envy about people who live on mainland Europe is howmuch easier it is to travel to other European countries, reader wil. I enjoyed your post.

A fantastic post for the letter F. Funnily enough I nearly chose France too this week. We have had some lovely holidays in Normandy and Brittany and I can't wait to return :)

I hope someday, when I have lived my life as you have, I will still be filled with fun and adventure like you are : ). You have the grandest times during the most ordinary situations. I LOVE it.

What a lovely place to visit! Such a beautiful countryside, and I love old castles. I must admit I much prefer the cottage where you stayed to the tents the first night:) I'm not much of a camper.

I was SO surprised when I clicked on your blog and saw that you'd done "France." I did "French" so we're both on the same wavelength. Lucky you to have just been visiting in that fantastic country!

What a lovely vacation cottage! Much better than the tent in which you spent the first night. A wonderful "F" post, Wil.

Biarritz is a LONG way away from Holland, far more difficult to reach than Côte d'Azur.

That must have been a marvelous trip. I don't think I would have liked camping out. I've never tried it, but I don't think I would like it, even when I was younger, never wanted to do that. My sister and her family went almost every week-end in the summer.

Bien sûr, je peux vous aider,c'est un plaisir
"You for whom...lines" :TB-giving
you a song ("in "or "as"? c'est l'idée d'une comparaison "comme" , "comme si"
"That life has only importance ...-"but" au lieu de "when", me semble-t-il-idée d'exception , de restriction ne...que
..."but in a flower dance"
"in the wind "is better than "in the weather "because the meaning is "time"(like in the titles :"gone with the wind "_ "blowing in the wind ")

Cela me semble excellent !
