The day started with a glorious sunrise at 8:30 AM. Later in the day, at 12:45 we had a lovely blue sky, the sun was shining and it was freezing! In the afternoon, when my family went skating after 4 o'clock, the sky took this pretty peachy shade and later, we had again a spectacular view of the setting sun.

Sky Watch is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy & Louise
Thank you so much for this great meme, it's always a pleasure to participate, and see all the other skies around the world

Really nice photos. Just wonder when you start having spring weather? Ours is sometime in late March, if we are lucky.

So lovely - and your banner is stunning.
Is that a frozen canal?

That header photograph and the rest are so beautiful. Isn't snow beautiful and magical when it first falls - not quite so exciting when it begins to melt. Sorry your big skating competition didn't take place - better luck next time.

For photo-value alone - the skating picture is a clear winner for me. Fine composition, depth, the right mellow colours etc etc etc

Have a nice weekend!

I love the skating shade. That truly is a spectacular collection of sky, sort of an ode to a winter's day in photo version. Love it!

Beautiful photos. We've been cold here all day. It did get up to around 15F Now it's drop back to about -3F and it will get colder before morning. If you have to be out, you want to make sure you cover the skin as you can get frost bite very easy with these kind of temps. I knew it was cold, when I walked to the bird feeder and could hear the snow crunching under my feet. Sleep well my friend.

Looks like pictures on a Christmas card! Very nice. Live from sunrise to sunset in winter. After sunset hibernate like a bear.

I've just found your blog via dear Weaver of Grass. I love these beautiful photographs of Holland in winter. We've visited Holland many times when MOH had business connections there (long retired now). We spent all of our formative years living in 'South Holland' in Lincolnshire, surrounded by tulip and daffodils fields so we love those wide-open spaces.
I shall be dipping in and out of your blog now.... yet another distraction from the housework...yippee!

So you still do some SKY_WATCHING every now and than, eye see...
I went to the big stones in the north again,on a misty Chinese newyearsday, a little foggie but oké.
There the ice is still in the waters, but the stones are in place, not to be carried AWAY...hey,happy newyear also in a CHInese WAY AWB
