Eastern European Outreach, The Netherlands

One day in May I was springcleaning my house and I noticed that I had too many clothes. Every year I empty my wardrobes, clean them and put all my clothes back, always the same clothes, which I hadn't worn for years. So I decided to bring them to the Eastern European Mission. When I came there I was told that they needed someone who could answer the phone.I got a tour on the premises and then I decided to take this job as a volunteer if they wanted to have me there! And they did. So that's what I do on Tuesdays! It has become a part of my world.

Who we are
In 1967, a 19 year old Dutch Christian, Kees van Olst, first smuggled Bibles into former Czechoslovakia. Kees' burning passion to help Christians living under the Communist regime caused him to start an organisation in 1974, known as "OostEuropa Zending" (OEZ). This work extended to other countries including the UK, where in 1984, "Eastern European Outreach UK" (EEO UK) was founded as a registered Charity, Nr. 290643.

Although EEO UK is an independent Christian Charity, in its national and international activities it still works closely together with its Dutch partner mission and 15 related missions in various countries, known collectively as "Eastern European Outreach International".

Working area's
UK and the Netherlands (Education and recruiting). Eastern Europe, with emphasis on Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Albania, Hungary, Serbia, Moldova and other areas. Asia (with emphasis on Israel and China), Africa and Latin America (education, recruiting, material and financial aid)

Working goals
To propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world by all means with emphasis on Material and Financial Aid and Relief to the poor, specifically: Child Sponsor Programme (CSP), Relief Transport, Care Projects, Children’s and Medical Relief (Children’s Homes and Hospitals), Prisoners Relief and Human Rights.
