Autumn is one of my favourite seasons in life. When I lived in Indonesia as a child, everything was green or yellowish dead. There was no variety in colours. It was always hot and sometimes humid as well and there were so many insects. Here in the northern parts of Europe we clearly have four seasons. I love the colouring of the trees and the nippy air. I love the cool nights without "mossies"( Australian word for gnats). I love the expectation of a year coming to its end and ready to start a new year with all hidden promises. I love the silver cobwebs on trees and bushes, glistening in the sun. I love walking outside in the autumn light on a dry day. I even love the wind howling round my house while I am sitting in my warm house with a nice cup of coffee. I hate cycling in the rain, but the fact that I have a warm house waiting for me, encourages me to keep cycling.
