X shapes

The X shape is very popular in churches, in coat of arms, and in flags, like the Scottish flag with the St.Andrew cross and the Irish flag with the St. Patrick cross.( still used in Northern Ireland)

It is called The St. Andrew's Cross (or Saltire). St. Andrew is believed to have been martyred on such a cross.

I visited many many churches but I had never looked carefully at these "X" shapes. Thanks for having opened my eyes! I wish you a wonderful Wednesday!

I was looking for a road sign with X, but that is probably history due to roundabouts.
