The Lion is the symbol of the Dutch nation, but actually a real symbol of the Netherlands could have been these cows, for we have plenty of cows and no lions at all, only in the zoo, and that is a caged one! These photos were taken in October 2007
For watching more critters visit Misty Dawn's place. She is so kind to host this meme! Thank you Misty Dawn!

I enjoyed the pastoral scenes with the cows & dramatic skies, but the last ‘reflective’ one is my favorite today. Thanks for sharing. Mine’s up at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,
I like the first picture because of the wide view and details! Great pics!

The reflection shot is wonderful Wil. One always thinks of India when it comes to cows. I did not know they were the symbol of the Netherlands.
very nice pictures I think cows are cute
I love cows! I collect cow figures.
The last photo is my favorite - it's truly awesome! Although, all of the photos are really great!
Beautiful shots!
i love cows! and,i really loved that last photo...
Nice photos especially the last one of the reflection!
My Camera Critter
lovely pictures of the cows and the land
OOps LOL - I missed the one little word 'could' be the symbol. Thanks Wil for correcting my mistake :)
All very good photos... I'm especially fond of the final photo of the reflection... but then I've always been a sucker for reflections but that one is very good!
Mountain Retreat Photos
And proper cows they are too! Like ours in the UK. Fresians are what we call them.
Lovely natural photos for critters. Mine's up too.
Moooooooooooooooo!
I played too :)
Yep - cows and wood clogs! And Tulips! They can't be missing in a Holland image!
Cheers, Klaus
Loved all the pics, but that last one of the cow + reflection wins me!
Wil: The cows definetly do much more for you then any lions.
Love these dairy cows--they always make me smile when I see them out in the pastures here and in Wisconsin. Such amiable creatures.
The photos are great.
Have a great week!
I enjoy cows, especially the longhorn variety. These are very nice, too. I especially like the reflection.
Great series, but the last one floored me. That reflection I wasn't expecting. Fabulous.
Yummy! Beef... The OTHER red meat ;)
It almost looks like you were in Indiana taking those pictures. Common scene around here.
Lisa
That reflection shot is terrific!
Haven't seem any Fresian cattle for a while.
Janice, you didn't make a mistake. I didn't write it correctly. I corrected it by rewriting it and putting the word could in the sentence'. Come to think of it: The duck could also be used as a national symbol! LOL
I haven't started posting pics of the cows we cared for yet - very fond of them. Much friendlier than lions.
That last one is my favourite, too - I love reflections!
Thank you all for the wonderful comments! Have a nice day!
Like the last photo of the cow and her reflection in the water.
We have plenty of cows in East Gwilimbury too, so you made me laugh. But today my blog has dragonflies.
My wife is going to get a kick out of this post. She loves black and white cows. Can't wait to show it to her! Great post!
What wonderful photos! Love the capture of the reflections in the pond! Great images!
No critters at Nature Trail today only botanical pleasures!
:)NG from Canada
I really like the final shot! Now do black and white cows produce chocolate and white milk? :P
